Physician tax appears to be dead, the governor pushes revenue for schools plan and has her veto pen in hand, and the extension to balance the state budget is ready to expire. The guest is Bob Emerson, state budget director. State Budget Director Bob Emerson served over twenty years in the Michigan House and Senate, where he was minority leader, before joining the Granholm administration as her top budget advisor. Emerson sponsored the income tax increase measure that spawned the recall of two state senators, and now he is on the front lines battling with the governor to raise new revenue to restore some of the $1.2 billion in cuts adopted by the legislature.
